First HIPAA Compliant Digital Voice Recorder Philips 9600 (LFH9600)
Philips released the first HIPAA Complaint Digital voice recorder, the Pocket MEMO 9600 (LFH9600)
The device is slide switch operated and features voice commands, indexing, password protection and one-touch key assignment. The most notable feature is its ability to encrypt files which prohibits the audio from being played with out the proper security key. This feature helps protect confidential information that is being transferred via a network, email, internet etc. An additional security feature includes the ability to password-protect the Pocket Memo 9600 to prevent unauthorized access to the digital recorder. A useful feature if the device is lost or stolen.
The LFH9600 has several accessories. The most beneficial tool released, the LFH9160 LAN Docking station, is designed for offices that prefer to download directly to a server or other system not located at the download site. The Philips LAN Docking Station 9160 allows dictations to be transferred through the network directly to the transcriptionists or other desired station. The LFH9160 connect to the network, NO PC NEEDED and files can be routed to any location. The setup and configuration of units can be administered from centralized admin control software.
The Pocket Memo 9600 can be used in conjunction with Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition software. We have created a setup guide which illustrates how to create a speech profile and automatically transcribe dictations with the Dragon Software.
