Thumbs up Two thumbs up for the New Conference Kit from Olympus ME30W

Excellent coverage, audio clarity and portability. What a difference a year makes, Olympus finally engineered and designed their own 2-channel Professional Microphone Kit. The kit is designed to work with the newly released digital conference recorders – the DS-50, DS-40, and DS-30 recorders.

The conference kit consists of:

2x omnidirectional microphones (two right and left channel omnidirectional microphones.)
2x Tripod
Adapter (PA8)
Cables for each microphone (total length, 16 feet)
Carrying case

The compatible digital recorders are sold separately. The DS-50, DS-40, and DS-30 are the same stereo conference recorder with different levels of storage capacity.

DS50 - 1G
DS40 - 512MB
DS30 - 256MB

The DS50 is package with a few extra goodies, a carry case, strap, and a remote control tie clip microphone.

The ME30 Conference microphones offers great coverage, and can be daisy chained to accommodate additional microphones. This is a great solution for recording town hall meetings, conferences, live performances, board meeting, depositions, interviews, lecturers, etc. The files are recorded in WMA (Windows Media Audio) and can be listened to in high-quality stereo sound. The recorded audio can easily be downloaded to a pc for transcription with one of the two compatible transcriptions kits. (The AS-2300 Transaction Kit or the AS-4000 Professional Transcription Kit)
