It is a digital life and Sony is intent on filling it with some sophisticated stylish new digital voice recorder, mini all-in-one products. Looks like they are going for the "wow" factor with their 2006 line-up of consumer centric voice recorders that are sure to compliment both work and play.
The ICD-U50, U60 and U70 "Voice Plus" digital voice recorders are scheduled for release June 2006 and combine voice/MP3/storage in an "all-in-one solution".
The official word from Sony: "Our 2006 line of voice recorders offer a myriad of options for personal, professional or academic use," said Jim Calverley, product manager at Sony Electronics.
The updates represent a growing trend in the mobile market for multi-purpose devices. The products are a reflection of Sony's attention to style and function, a direct step towards a growing mobile culture that wants a hint fun in their portable devices. With bold new designs, clearly Sony is trying to establish itself as a leader in the battle of the consumer market.
The new models feature storage capacities of up to 1 GB, which allows for up to 502 hours of voice recording (LP Mode) as well as music/ MP3 playback, three recording modes and USB direct connection to plug directly to pc to download files. Prices range from $130 and $180, respectively.
