| Nothing appears on the display screen | 1. Batteries are not loaded properly | 1. Verify polarity is correct |
| 2. Batteries are dead | 2. Replace or recharge batteries | |
| 3. The recorder is in "Hold" Mode | 3. Move the Hold "Slide" switch which is usually found on the side or back of recorder. | |
| 4. The recorder is in "Power" Off Mode | 4. Move the Power "Slide" switch which is usually located on the back of the recorder to "on". | |
| Unable to Record | 1. The memory card is full | 1. Erase some file or put in another card |
| 2. The card is unformatted | 2. Select Format card through the submenu | |
| 3. The maximum number of files has been reached | 3. Erase some files or check another folder for empty space | |
| No Playback tone heard | 1. The earphone is connected | 1. Unplug earphones |
| 2. The "Volume" is set to "0" | 2. Adjust Volume | |
| Unable to erase | 1. File is locked | 1. Unlock the file through menu |
| Noise heard during playback | 1. The recorder was placed near a cell phone or florescent lamp during recording or playback | 1. Move Recorder |

| Unable to set Index Marks | 1. You may have reached the maximum number (16) of index marks | 1. Erase unnecessary index marks |
